Position: DJ

DJing since the early 80s, but not until the 90’s that Dave Marley became interested in radio presenting. With love and respect all types of good music, his taste and knowledge stretch as far back as the 1950s through to the 00s.

Growing up in West London listening to the radio as a young lad and starting his collection of vinyl at the mere age of 5 years old saving his pocket money to buy records as often as possible, now some 50-odd years on, his vinyl collection and knowledge of music is growing.

He grew up listening to legends such as the late great Alan “Fluff” Freeman with his “Pick of the Pop”, Tony Blackburn, John Peel and soul DJ and good friend Greg Edwards with his Soul Spectrum.

After some 30 years presenting on various radio stations, from pirate radio, to hospital radio, local community radio and many different live events over the years, he now presents his own breakfast show each morning called “Marley in the Morning” It’s 3 hours of “feel good” music every weekday morning from 7am to 10am here on this station. The show includes music from the 60s through to the 00s. Its packed with music facts and info, and some great features throughout, such as “80s at 8” 30mins of 80s classics from 8 till 8.30. “The Workout Track”, someting lively to workout each morning. “The 5 at 9”, 5 tracks in a row just after 9am, leaving you to try and guess the years to win your own “virtual gold star award” “The Midway Extended Play”, a daily classic 12’inch extended mix “Born today in music history”, “Featured Classic Album”, we pick a classic album each week, and play a track a day at 9.30, and if all that wasnt enough to quench your thirst for good music and great radio, there’s “The Theme tune Finish” at the end of every show, jogging memories of sometimes long forgotten TV shows you absolutly would not miss back in the day.

Someone said recently.. “ITS THE BEST THING SINCE TISWAS!” tune in and make up you own mind.

I bought my first single in 1969…..”Sugar Sugar” by The Archies!!! I continued collecting rather a cross section of music until my best friend bought me “Burn” by Deep Purple for my eighteen birthday!! That was it….I became a life long “rocker” from then on!! So my first love is ROCK, as is my second & third love….. although The Carpenters are my guilty pleasure!! Aside from Rock, I also love Sixties & Seventies music…..probably because I lived through them!!! lol

My love of Radio has been going for more years than I care to remember….. 25+ years with Sunshine Radio on the Isle of Wight & a stint on internet radio with Vectis Radio for eight years, then I seemed to get offers to broadcast my shows all over the place! A final thought….If someone had told me in 1969 not to collect the 6000 plus albums I collected over the decades because you’d be able to access them & more on a mobile phone that fits in the palm of your hand I’d have never have believed it!!! Mind, I did enjoy collecting them!!!

Hi,
My name is Pete Matthewman and I hail from Brookfield a growing country town about 50km west of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia.

I was the Founder/Host of My Country Australia (Radio Show) from 2014 until 2020 which produced more than 300+ episodes.

In 2020 I started the ‘It’s My Country Radio Show’ and after 46 shows I took a 10 month break due to Covid but in July 2022 I started doing the show again which is now more than 55+ shows old.

My love of country music started about 12 years ago, when I was introduced to Rascal Flatts and ever since that day I have been hooked.

When I started MCA it was predominately American country music that I played for first 4-5 months.
I have found that Australia has some of the best country music artists going around and they then took up most of the show. The ‘It’s My Country Radio Show’ now plays an eclectic mix of country music genres from all over the world.

In my private life, I am married with 2 kids and 4 grandkids, I work fulltime for Netafim Australia and am involved with sporting clubs in my local area.

I also own my very own online Radio Station called IMC Country Radio which can be found at www.imccountryradio.com

I look forward to bringing you all the latest and greatest country music from around the world.
